Manganese and Ferroalloys

Voltcon Manganese is focused on the development of two revenue streams:
1. The export of Direct Shipping Ore (DSO); and
2. refined ferromanganese alloys of medium and low carbon manganese.

The Manganese Ore Lumps can be availed in different grades of 18% to 52% manganese (Mn) content and are mainly used for the manufacturing of silicon manganese, steel, M.S. steel and alloys. The Manganese Ore Lumps are also used in the high carbon ferro manganese industries.
Voltcon International is ideally located to make the most of Asian demand, with its close proximity to the key markets of India, Asia, especially China, UAE, Korea and Japan.

Manganese - Metallurgical Uses and Applications Steel Making

Presently steel making accounts for 92% to 96% of the total manganese consumption. Manganese is commonly used by the steel industry in deoxidising and desulfurizing additives and as an alloying constituent. It can improve the rolling and forging qualities, as well as the strength, toughness, stiffness, hardness, wear resistance, and harden-ability of steels. Steel containing 9-18% manganese can have a high tensile strength of up to 891 MPa, and steel with 15% or more manganese is used in applications in which great toughness and wear resistance is required, such as gyrators crushers, jaw-crusher plates, railway points and crossover components.
